Re: Resyncing or Flushing Transaction Log Files

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

If circular logging is enabled it would just create 4 logs and keep recycling
the lgos. This is not the right way of flushing logs.

It has its own disadvantages when it comes to recovery. I would not say to
enable it unleass resource is a big question.

If the backup is good then a full backup should purge the logs files.

In order for the server flushed the transaction logs after a full backup you
have to enable the Circular Logging. Depending on which version of Exchange
you have, for Exch 2003 server it is under Server-First Storage
Group-Properties.

What is the best way to resync or flush the transaction logs in exchange?
I
completed a full back up with and error and the logs do not flush. I am
using
Veritas 10D. I have tried using the NT-Back up on the exchange box and am
recieving and error. "NT BackUP Report Below"

The Information store is mounted and working properly but I am quickly
running out of space do to the log files. I moved some of the older log
files to a network drive. If I cannot complete a full back up 3rd party
or
NTBackup what is the best way to flush the log files.
