Re: Will rpc over http provide certian encryption?

Bharat,

Thanks for your clarification.

What 3rd party encryption solutions are you using now? What does it encrypt?
Ciphertrust. ( I guess it's based on SSL) The mails sent from our 500 users
to the clients are encrypted. The clients have to get the encrypted messages
through the https secured server to pull the messages. (WEB pull)

Do you think the rpc over https can replace this solution? Thank you for
your thoughts.

THANK YOU.

Once again, you'll be using *HTTPS*, wouldn't you (uses SSL encryption)? :)
If you do, yes, the session is secured.

Bharat,

Thanks for your quick response as always. Great help!

You mean the session should be secured if we configure the outlook profile
to use rpc over http. Can we use this method to replace third party
encryption solutions?

THANK YOU!

Use a packet analyzer to check - you will be using RPC over *HTTPS*.

The connection/communication is secure, but the actual messages - though
encrypted for that session and stored in Exchange's Information Store are
more or less secure - when using a mechanism like HTTPS be aware that
it's
point-to-point communication that's being encrypted.

Hi all,

If we configure outlook profile to use rpc over http, will the emails
be
encrypted when we send emails? How do we verify if the emails are sent
securely?

THANK YOU!
