Re: Question Mark appiers in messages sent from OWA

Hi,

In your mail, you mentioned that it seemed to be a machine-specific
problem. Does it mean that the problem will not occur when sending mails
with same user account on the other machines? It is quite important to this
issue.

If it is a machine-specific issue, please have a look at the following
information:
1. Check if HTML Text Filters is installed on the client machine/
This is a 3rd party software by DBS GmbH. It includes HTML text filters
that run with this installation. Remove the software. If it can't be
removed, there may be a specific dll that is still active. One of the dll
files is TX_HTM32.dll. It can be located under the Winnt\System32\
directory. Rename or Remove this and check if there are any changes in the
behavior of the OWA client.

2. Verify if the item is existent in registry.
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2D360201-FFF5-11d1-8D03-00A0C959BC0A}\InprocServer
32]
If it's existent, please check the value of (Default). It should be
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\dhtmled.ocx".
Restart and test again.

Regarding the S/MIME controller, the hotfix mentioned in 883543 has been
included in Exchange 2003 SP2. If you haven't installed SP2, please install
SP2 immediately. If you have installed SP2, please perform the following
operations:
1. Locate to C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\exchweb\6.5.7638.1\cabs. (Please
open the folder with the max number.) Verify if Setupmcl.exe is existent in
this folder.
2. Try to download the S/MIME controller on a Windows 2000 machine.

Sincerely,
John Chen, MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA, MCSD
