Re: Relay Problem

Dear Jeff,
in the following setting:

On the Outgoing Server tab, I have my outgoing server requires
authentication: checked
I have the option to use the same settings as incoming server.

don't use the options where it says "use the same settings as incoming
server" instead type in the user name and password again. and try. it should
work, please let me know the result.

I have a relay problem that I hope somebody can help me with. I have
two SMTP Virtual Servers setup. One for port 25, and the other for
port 587. I do not allow anybody to connect from outside via port 25,
only port 587. All e-mail into the company first goes to a Linux box,
and then gets sent to the Exchange server. But, I want my remote
users to be able to send through my server, so I open up port 587.
This is only for the rare circumstances where people need to connect
to IMAP and SMTP instead of using Exchange in Outlook.

Under the 587 Virtual Server I have the following settings:

Authentication:
Anonymous Access: Not Checked
Basic Authentication: Checked
Requires TLS encryption: Checked
Integrated Windows Authentication: Checked

Under Users:
Authenticated Users: Submit allowed, Relay denied (I have also tried
with Relay allowed).

Relay Restriction:
Only the list below: Checked
Allow all computers who authenticate: Checked

Now, in my client, I am using Outlook, I have the following settings:

On the front page, I have my username and password, and I have Log On
Using Secure Password Authentication checked.

On the Outgoing Server tab, I have my outgoing server requires
authentication: checked
I have the option to use the same settings as incoming server.

And, on the Advanced tab, I have use port 587 for the outgoing SMTP
server.

But, when I try and send to somebody who does not have a mailbox on
the Exchange server, I get a relay denied error. I am able to send to
anybody who has a mailbox on the Exchange server. What is
interesting, I have a few e-mail only accounts while I still switch
people over to the new server, and those users I get a relay denied
error.

Any ideas what I have set wrong?

Thanks for any help you can offer me.
Jeff
