Do you have any corresponding event log entries or anything to indicate
there may be a problem elsewhere? Are the queues typically empty or do they
contain message and if so how many. Any drive space or performance issues on
the drive that contains your SMTP queues? Are you using any SMTP connectors?

No, it is not.

Anyone have any idea why it takes my "Default Virtual SMTP Server"
forever
to
restart itself? Actually, it takes forever to stop and then a short
time
to
start. When you can get it to start back up at all, without a full
Windows
reboot, that is. By "forever" I mean over an hour. I've never
actually
timed how long the restart takes because after that long I usually just
fully
reboot Windows Server 2003.
This has become a HUGE nuisance lately, thanks to bi-monthly IMF
updates.
Windows Server 2003 Standard
Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise
Please let me know if there are any event logs I can provide that would
help?
TIA.
