Backups and purging transaction logs.

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I'm running Ex2k3 (SP2). I run a full offline backup every night. A batch
file runs prior to the backup which stops all the Exchange related services.
It's always a clean backup and zero files are skipped.

Circular logging is NOT enabled.

Shouldn't the transaction logs be purged after the backup completes?
