Can you tell us how you determined/diagnosed the issue?

Ok, I've run the analyzer, it noticed three possible faults/errors. Fixed
them (PTE too high and HeapDeCommitTotalFreeThreshold registry change for
over 1GB ram)
The only thing that I haven't done anything about is the tcpip.sys problem
that BPA reported.
Now here is the funny/odd part, and the fix:
Neither of the changes reported by the BPA helped, although they certainly
where useful changes/tunings. Mail store still kept falling several times.
We
noticed that store.exe fell randomly during daytime so we started
investigateing the users mailboxes usage seperately (via exmon).
The conclusion was that one workers mailbox had something in it that took
down the complete store.exe process (taking down every mailbox store on
the
server), the worker didn't notice anything unusual in his mailbox. It was
however imbossible to take a backup of that specific mailbox, so I deleted
it
and remade it. Now everthing looks and works fine, though I've a hard time
believing that this was the reason... Any ideas how this could happen?
quite
scary that this even can happen.

Run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer?
Enable diagnostics logging for your server?
Those are a few things to try. Are there any 3rd party applications
installed?

Hi,
Running exchange2003 Enterprise SP1 on a win2003 server, with about 400
on
the mail server.
For some unknown reasons the mailserver jumped out from the domain a
week
ago, then the problem started a few days ago. Didn't notice the
dropout,
resetted the mailcomputer account and rejoined, that part seems fine.
A few days ago the exchagne server store process stopped by itself,
unexpectedly.
Not saying why...
The process can be started manually, but the uptime after that varies
from
a
few minutes to several hours (mabe a evening/night at most). I can't
get
any
hints from the server events where to start looking.
I've tried everything that I've come up with, but without any "useful"
info
from the logs it feels hopeless... everything seems fine, I have
scanned
the
consistency with eseutil and scanned with isinteg. Implemented the 3GB
boot.ini procedure... the problem is that when the store is up and
running,
everything works like normal.
I'm looking for a needle in a haystack here...
Anyone, any ideas would be great?
.
