Which queue? Where?
What is the status of the queue?
If you are dealing with DNS issues, or firewall publishing issues, then
moving all users to a new server will have zero effect on the problem.

Could be.....is the mx record for your domain pointing to the old or new
server? What happens is you send yourself an e-maill from a hotmail or
gmail account? Do you get a bounce there? It may just be that DNS is
messed up...

Actually Tom no messages from external emial is getting through. I am
currently in the process of moving my exchange to a newer box with the
same
software. Up to yesterday everythng was working fine but now nothing
from
outside seems to be getting through. I have moved the majority of my
users
to the new box. Could this be due to the fact that the 2 are operating
side
by side (although the old one is still functioning as primary)?

Hi. I am running a w2k server with exchange 2000 installed. I have
noticed
that external emails are taking an excessively long time to be
received.
I
have no problem in sending mail within domain or sending out of
domain.
I
sent to an external address and received it almost immediately. I
stopped
and restarted the smtp service after emptying the bad mail folder in
the
exchange mailroot, but i don't think the problem has been fully
resolved.
Any
ideas?
