Good idea, and I thought about something like that. However, I have examples
where the mail is being sent directly to the user and not being submitted via
a DL.
Thanks,

Take a look at this article:.

If a user sends mail to a recipient that is a member of two
distribution groups (formerly known as distribution lists, or DLs), and
the distribution groups are expanded on different servers, recipients
can experience duplicate mail delivery.

Shows once in the tracking center. AV is present on the server but has all
exclusions set and has never caused a past problem. There is no scanning of
the Exchange db occurring on this particular server presently.

Nothing in the tracking logs that jumps out at me. The message ID's are on
digit off so it appears that Exchange believes the messages are being sent
twice.
So, in message tracking it shows them being sent twice?
Any AV on the Exch Server?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi,
I have an increasing number of complaints about messages that are sent
once showing up to the recipient twice. Checking the sent items shows that
only one message was sent and the tracking center shows the same thing.
Nothing suspicious about the clients in question and they're part of the same
OU's etc.. as other users that working correctly. Any ideas why this might
occur?
Thanks,
Dan
Anything useful in message tracking?
Do the messages have the same message-id?
