To know for sure you'd need to enable protocol logging and look at the
details of the transmission.

Scenario: A message is sent from Exchange to a group of contacts with
external addresses, all in the same domain. Let's say there's 25 of
them. Three of these turn out to be invalid and their server responds
with a 557 invalid recipient. Exchange generates an NDR back to the
sender, but the way it presents the NDR is what the problem is. This
might be easier to understand by seeing an example below. As you can
see, it lists the same address for all intended recipients (valid and
invalid) and basically only tells me that one address was invalid, but
it was more than that, as I found from other sources. In the example
below, userfour and userfive were invalid, others were valid. The NDR
does not make sense. Is this a problem with Exchange or the other
server?
