Re: Store not in System Manager

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

The users in AD are still pointing to Store #2 and I can see the files
(pub1.edb and pub1.stm) being updated according to their date modified. User
are not having any problems (none reported at least, and they would call). I
have a screen shot of how it looked (system mgr.) before and now if you want
me to email them to you for referance?

Folders, Public Folders is a virtual representation of public folders.

The Actual Public Folder store (by default) for each server gets created and
resides inside the First Storage Group. I promise.

As far as your other mailbox stores, have you tried what I suggested? Were
there any Active Directory Changes when all this stopped working? Any
additions of anything? Do you perform regular backups of AD?

Right, there was a public folder, but it is listed in the proper place,
under
Folders > public folders. This "new one" is listed under server >
servername
First Storage Group > Public Folder Store (servername), that public
folder
store was not there a couple of days ago.
"Mailbox Store should *not* have a class of publicMDB" I agree, but its
there.
Fix???

The Public Folder Store *is* there by default for every server
installation.

Also, the Mailbox Store should *not* have a class of publicMDB. When I
look
at my mailbox stores, they have an objectClass value of:
msExchMDB
msExchPrivateMDB
top

These same values show up under the StructuralObjectClass

When did this happen? What happens if you add those object classes to
the
missing mailbox store?

Attributes don't normally just "disappear". Something had to delete
them.

So I can't see store #2 in the SYstem Manager, Exchange 2003 SP2. I
can
see
it in ADSIedit.msc and there is no value in the class column. The other
store, #1, has values of msexchPriveteMDB and ..publicMDB. If I right
click
and choose properties, it does nothing. There is a new "store" under
First
storeage group named: Public Folder Store (server name) that was not
there
before.
