Re: services not starting

A few months ago I was looking at a server move to new hardware. I posted a
couple of messages and the recommended to follow the steps on the following
page, which were your directions actually.

http://swinc.com/resources/exchange/faq_db.asp?status=questions&faqID=1001&faqname=Exchange%202000&sectionID=1024&sectionName=Exchange%202000%20Move%20Server%20Method

I did that and everything is working great except when I restart it, and
only if I forget to check on the services. Also the article that I found did
not fix anything for me.

In the last 2 months I have moved my Exchange 2000 server to a new box and
since then I have not been able to reboot with and have all of the
services
start. In particular I get 2 errors both with the same info just
diffenert
services. The error looks like this:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7001
Date: 3/4/2006
Time: 3:03:33 AM
User: N/A
Computer: POST
Description:
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service depends on the Microsoft
Exchange System Attendant service which failed to start because of the
following error:
%%0

The other error is the same but is the SYstem Attendant.

I have looked at an article from MS that tells me to change the Kerberos
Key
Distribution Center service to automatic. When I do that the Kerberos
service does not start upon reboot and it does not start manually as well.
The error that the Kerberos service gives is the following:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7023
Date: 3/4/2006
Time: 2:18:11 PM
User: N/A
Computer: POST
Description:
The Kerberos Key Distribution Center service terminated with the following
error:
The security account manager (SAM) or local security authority (LSA)
server
was in the wrong state to perform the security operation.

Even though the Kerberos service does not start I can manually start the
System Attendant and the Information store services. The server is a
member
and not a DC.

Thanks.

Eric
