Nuevo,
Thanks for the tip. I'm not the Exchange Admin here, so can you point
me to where you can access permissions on the information stores.
In Exchange System Manager, I don't see the Information Store as an
object I can view, etc.
Thanks,
Jason

The inherited permissions probably come from the Netbackup account being a
Domain Admin. This is by design. In order to overcome this you have apply
permissions explicitly for the account. So in this case go your
information stores and grant the Netbackup account the required
permissions, including Send As/Receive As, these will override the
inherited permissions.

I am in the process of testing Veritas NetBackup Enterprise to backup up
our Exchange environment. Among the instructions from Veritas on setting
this up, from the Exchange System Manager, you first drill down to the
first virtual server and right-click on the virtual server name and select
Properties.
Click on the Security tab.
Select the NetBackup Client service account under the Name pane.
Under Permissions, select Receive As and Send As.
Now, what we have here are inherited Deny Permissions for Receive As and
Send As, so NetBackup can't actually see mailboxes to backup. The
permissions are inherited from somewhere, but from where, we have yet
been able to determine.
Any advice on where to alter the inherited permissions would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
