Eudora is a email client. Is it trying to connect to your email server
directly or is it trying to send email through thier ISP? If it is direct
then consider this:
Is his ip address static or dynamic? If dynamic then it is best to send
through an ISP's email server.
1) Make an exception to allow thier static ip address to connect to your
email server. Dynamic ip addresses may be blocked by spam filters.
2) Have him try to telnet into port 25 of your mail exchange name (MX).
3) Tracert your mail exchange name (MX)
4) Check his RDNS and see if it points to his MX entry.
5) I know Im missing something - can someone fill this in.

Hi Jay,
The NDR is a cut and paste from the original NDR the client got returned
to him. We do not have the problem. The client is outside of us and this
is what he receives when trying to send to our domain. We have no problems
sending to him. He gets this NDR whether he creates a new email or replies
to one of ours.

Set it up so you get a copy of outbound NDR to help you trace down the
problem a bit better. You may see a typo in the email address or
something else simple:
1) Open System Manager
2) Expand Trees: Servers - [Name of your Server] - Protocols - SMTP
3) Right click on "Default SMTP" or if whatever you may have it named and
choose Properties
4) Click on the Messages tab along the top
5) Add your email address to the part that says Send copy of Non-Delivery
Report To in the space provided
6) Ask your friend to try to send another email and see what you get in
If you get nothing then try to temporarily disable SMSMSE and try your
test again and see if the email gets through again. If it does this time
then examine your settings in SMSMSE.
Another thing to consider is to see what his DNS shows as a ip address
for your domain name. See if it matches with what you know as the
correct ip address.

We are the recipients. This is a forwarded email of the NDR the sender
received.

It looks more like a message receipt than an NDR. Did you confirm with
the recipient that they did not get the email?

We have a client who is trying to send us email. It never gets to us
and he receives an NDR pasted below. His mail client is Eudora nd he
gets this when he tags his email with a Read Email return reply. I
asked him to remove this tag and he does not get an NDR but we never
get his email. I looked in the queque and don't see it getting hung up
there. We use Symantec SMSMSE 5.0 and also IMF 1.0 but do not see the
email blocked by either one. I am going to check with my ISP later and
see if they see anything but in the meantime if someone can decipher
the NDR I'd sure would appreciate it. Thanks.
The name ws changed to protect the innoncent.
