Our domain name is womenscommunity.org. When I tried the address at
www.dnsreport.com, it gave a similar error to the other one:
[Could not connect: Got an unknown RCPT TO response: 550 No such user - psmtp]
but other e-mail addresses that I tried worked.

What's your smtp domain? The easy way to check this is to see what the MX.
records are for your domain. I'm betting that you are using Postini for
anti-spam and antivirus.
It's very doubtful that Gmail would have caused this. The error is "no such
user", which indicates that something is attempting to validate the user
being sent TO as a valid user.

Is there an easy way to explain to me how I can check this? I am the one
at
our office with the best shot at solving computer problems, but e-mail and
network administration problems are not my forte.
Is it possible that the psmtp thing is from Gmail? That's where the error
came from.
Thanks for trying to help.

Are you using an external filtering company such as Postini? I ask
because
Exchange doesn't respond with psmtp :-)
If this is the case, check and make sure that Postini has this new user
listed for your domain.

Hello,
I tried to search for something like this, but didn't come up with
anything.
We are running Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard, and I don't
think
any of the service packs are installed. That's a whole different issue,
but
my problem right now is that we have one user who is not receiving
that is from sources other than our Exchange server. When I tried to
send
the
user an e-mail from both Gmail and my home ISP, I got the following
error:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 550 No such user - psmtp
This makes no sense because:
1) All of the other accounts are able to receive external e-mail.
2) The user definitely exists. This error is given even when replying
to
an
e-mail received from that user.
If anyone has any ideas about where I could look to solve the problem,
I
would appreciate it. As far as I can tell, the account is set up
exactly
like
all of the other accounts we have.
