I came across this article on the web, and it was extremely helpfull
upgrading Windows 2000 domain Controller to Windows 2003 Domain
controller.
Check it out:

Thanks

hello
i am about to upgrade our 2000 AD and 2000 exchange environment, none of
the
current DC's or exchange servers will be upgraded, new hardware will be
used
for DC's and Exchange servers.
This is the way I see that I have to do things:
1 Backup AD
2 Extend Exchange 2000 schema (from schema master DC) prior to
running forestprep using
ldifde -i -f inetorgpersonprevent.ldf -v -c DC=X "domain name path for
forest root domain"
(taken from
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325379)
3 run adprep /forestprep
4 run adprep /adprep
5 Install 1st W2K3 DC into domain
6 Install 1st E2K3 server into exchange organisation
7 Replace the rest of the W2K DC's
8 Replace the rest of the E2K Servers
9 Raise domain functional level
10 Raise Forest functional level
Are there any gotchas i should be aware of, or any bad experiences anyone
else has had.
TIA
Joe
