Re: Message Forwarding Question

Is it possible to prevent users from setting these rules via anything that
can be set Server Side?

If not do you know of a tool that could be used to force this?

It has to do with a corp. policy and some users are just not complying.

Thank you for your help and patience with a newbie.

Thanks:
Eric.

Yes each of my users are able to set up a forward via the Rules in OWA or
Outlook, I thought I had this blocked via the Global setting of not allowing
automatic forward.

I thought with that setting I would not be able to set a rule in OWA or
Outlook to forward all email that is coming to that account to another
account however I can.
I tested this in OWA by forwarding all email to a different account, two
test accounts. Can this be stopped?

Do I need to change a setting on each users Mailbox or is there a Global
that will block this.

The default Global setting in ESM prevents auto-forwards to the
Internet. It does not however prevent users from creating the rules,
manually forwarding messages or prevent forwarding by rule to users
within the Exchange Org.

I am not real familiar with Exchange yet; I have just been working with it
for about a month now.

Eric

I have looked around and wanted to know if this is even possible. I need to
be able to Block all forwarding of emails.

I have the setting “Allow automatic forward” under Internet message format,
unselected, however our users are still able to setup forwards with OWA
rules. I need to stop this.

The rules in OWA or in Outlook are the same ones within the inbox of
the user. Are you sure that is what is happening?

Any ideas or if you could just point me to a KB article that would help, I
have not been able to find any on this.

Info:

Exchange 2003 SP 2
