We had the same kind of problems. There were two major things that caused
problems:
1. The PTR record for the DSL-link incorrect set by the provider. This
caused Reverse DNS queries to fail. Not the main cause of the problems
because other recipients should reject our messages.
2. Turn of blocking of messages in the IMF. Some message with incorrect
headers are deleted or rejected before being stored in the IS. Without any
NDR or other message (besides the Event Log), messages are removed.
