As John pointed out this is a Legato problem not an Exchange problem. One of
the typical processes used by developers is to require the Outlook client to
be installed and their product will then use MAPI calls via the Outlook
client to create and handle PST files. Given it was only Outlook 2003 that
introduced PST larger than 2GB you probably have an older client on your
backup box or on the Exchange server.

Contact Legato to clarify this and obviously don't speak to the same guy
because he does not have a clue about his own product.
