Exchange 5.5 - Outlook XP sending iCalendar forwards automatically?

Hi,
I have an Exchange 5.5 server in an NT4 domain. The clients are running
Outlook XP. I'm trying to send Calendar requests from this to a seperate
Server/Exchange 2003 forest. If I just create a calendar appointment and
Invite Attendees from the other forest it only goes through as text, but
I've found I can send a Calendar request as an *.ics by clicking "Actions >
Forward as iCalendar" which successfully forwards on an appointment that
users in the corresponding forest can Accept.
What I'd like to know is if it's possible to set the Outlook clients to
automatically send an *.ics file so the user doesn't have to click the
additional options. And if not, how difficult would it be to create a new
button for users to click that would accomplish this task?
I found in another posting the mention of a tick box in the Calendar Options
called "When sending meeting requests over the Internet, use iCalendar
format". Our network is over a leased line so there are no dial-up
connections. I tried adding a dummy IMAP account which allowed me to tick
this box, but that still didn't seem to send an *.ics file when I invited an
attendee from the 2003 forst.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Curtis.
