Hummm, it looks like Cached Mode IS the way to go - unless one wants the
granularity of setting send/receive groups that Offline settings would allow.
It appears that "Cached Mode" creates/setups the OST file needed for "offline
and synchronizing with the Exchange server.... so I think... one of the
things that has confounded me... "where to store data"(i.e. Exchange mailbox,
..pst, .ost) becomes automatic in that it uses the Exchange mailbox - but
"offline" it uses the created .ost. There appears to be no way to point to an
..ost for storage - it just happens once setup - I think? It looks like one
can only select an Exchange mailbox, or a .PST for storage. I think I'll
still need to setup two email profiles... one for "in-office" and connected
directly to the Exchange server over the LAN... another for "out-of-office"
setting up the RPCoHTTPS.
Any comments, confirmations, suggestions are welcomed... wanting to setup
this in the best way, and least confusing way for users.
(Also, many of these users still have a lot of emails in a .PST folder/file
from when they used to use a POP3 download from an ISP's email, before
Exchange, - I think it's best to just leave those emails in the .PST folder?)
Thanks - Dodge
