Hi,

I had the same Problem.

Our LAN is devided into 2 segements. Both behind the firewall.

Client opens connections to the Exchangeserver. The Client also opens
connections to a DC and GC. In Outlook 2003 press Strg+rightclick the
taskicon of Outlook2k3 to see the connections.

In our situation the connection to the GC went over the firewall. If Outlook
is inactiv for a while, it sends a "Push-Ack" packet to reestablish the
connection. But the firewall already ended the session so the push-ack was
no valid packet and was droped. We increased the timeout of the firewall,
but the problem was still there. We found a parameter for Windows to handle
the sessiontimeout.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters the
DWORD "KeepAliveTime" We set the value less than the firewalltimeout and
were rid of the problem. Have a look and a try on that.
