You mentioned that restarting the backend resolves the issue. Are there any
event log errors that occur during these outages? Can users on the local
LAN access email via Outlook during these outages or is the information
store offline?
I don't think you have to worry about a firewall issue as you would never
work if you didn't have the correct ports open.

Config :
1 server back-end (Exch 2003) in LAN
1 server front-end (Exch 2003) in DMZ
2 DC - DNS Server (Win2k) in LAN
Once or twice a week, we cannot access the mail boxes from OWA.
We have the authentication form, but after entering the datas, the usual OWA
blue screen comes with the vertical blue line in the middle and nothing
more.
I restart the back-end and anything works fine again.
I opened all the port in the firewall between the FE and The BE but the
problem occured during this time.
Does someone know the answer??
