I used to think that, too. But I've seen some companies (Ford, I
think, is one) where the message passes through between 15 and 25
servers as it moves towards the outflow servers, A-V scanning servers,
content-scanning servers, anti-spam scanners, etc. We might another
four or five server to that chain, too.
