AFAIK, using Outlook forwarding rules will not preserve that information.
If you want to keep the headers intact, you would need to change the method
that you use to automatically forward messages. Instead of using Outlook
rules, set up a contact in AD for the external account, then on the
properties of the user you want to forward messages for, on the Exchange
General tab, Delivery Options, set up the Forwarding option to forward to
the contact. You can also check the box to deliver to both the forwarding
address and the mailbox.
