Exchange 2003 Front End SMTP

2003Ex Standard over 2003AD native/native:

I tried to route all SMTP through the front end, but it returned
undeliverable in testing. What is the procedure for piping SMTP thrpugh the
front end so I don't have to have anything routed to my back end at all, or
shouldn't I do that?
