Derek,
Several ISPs started doing system wide SMTP blocks whereas if you are not
connected to their network you cannot use their SMTP server, and/or if you
are connected to their network you cannot send to any other SMTP server.
Instead of using Earthlink's SMTP server you should use your ISPs SMTP Smart
Host.
