Hi
Our last Exchange 5.5 server was removed from the 2000 administrative group
(followed MS article 284148). The Exchange organisation was still running in
mixed mode.
The NT4 domain PDC was turned off in preparation for decommissioning. I
started receiving Event ID: 9153
'Microsoft Exchange System Attendant reported an error '0xc00706fc' when
setting DS notification.'
Event ID: 8213
'System Attendant Service failed to create session for virtual machine
'ServerName'. The error number is 0xc007054b.'
Email messages being sent from outlook client where being queued in the
Outbox for varying amounts of time before being delivered. (from around 30
secs to a couple of minutes)
MS article 328931 describes similar events being logged and a backlog of
messages occurring in the SMTP remote delivery queues. The organisation was
converted to mixed mode as suggested in the above article. Unfortunately the
messages still queued in the outbox and the events where still being logged.
The NT4 PDC was switched back on - emails where no longer queuing in the
outbox but the following event is now logged around every 25 minutes:
Event ID 8197
Error initializing session for virtual machine 'ServerName'. The error
number is 0x8004011d. Make sure Microsoft Exchange Store is running.
The NT4 domain is due to be decommissioned and I therefore need to be able
to remove the last NT4 server (PDC).
I have read a number posts of people experiencing similar problems but to
date have been unable to find a resolution.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Mike
