There really isn't enough information about your environment in your post to
make an educated answer. You mention 2 Active directories. How is AD
configured? How many domain controllers, Forests, Domains, Exchange
Organizations?

Also you need a clear idea of mail flow, ie: how is mail routing to and from
the internet, and via which machines?

When you open Exchange System manager, do you see both servers listed?
