That will depend entirely on your backup product - or advanced

If there's *nothing* in the recover deleted items, it could be that
your mail server doesn't support it - I believe this is an Exchange
function. If your mail server is Exchange, the deleted item retention
may not be turned on.

My guess is that you're not using Exchange, as I don't believe you
actually CAN delete or move the entire sent items folder when you're
using Exchange/Outlook - they're what Exchange terms "special folders"
and they are protected.

And, if you're not using Exchange, then my first answer is the only
option - it will depend entirely on the capabilities of your backup
product - or alternately, on the functionality of your mail server, as
Outlook itself won't have the data no matter what your server is...

There are some "dumpsteralwayson" options (registry tweaks) for
Outlook, but again I think they only work with Exchange - and they do
not work retroactively so far as I know.
