This is the application event log error:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: ESE
Event Category: Logging/Recovery
Event ID: 217
Date: 1/25/2005
Time: 8:26:32 AM
User: N/A
Computer: IH-EXCHANGE02
Description:
Information Store (3268) First Storage Group: Error (-4001) during backup of
a database (file D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb). The database
will be unable to restore.
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
I have not tried an offline backup. I will have to wait until after office
hours (minimize impact of down time) to take the information store offline.
The exchange server is only running GFI mailessentials and GFI mailsecurity
for spam and virus protection. I can try disabling these services at end of
day as well. I hesitate to take spam protection offline because our inboxes
get flooded immediately - its absolutely ridiculous and amazing the amount
of spam we get. :-(.
