Hi,

We are running an Exchange 5.5 and, like the rest of the world, have a
great deal of spam.

We have just started to receive bursts of spam, addressed to
randomnames@mydomain.com where mydomain.com is our domain.

The random names are actual names or words generally, rather than random
strings. I know that this sort of thing is common with spammers.

I can receive all the NDA messages, but how can I see the message
headers for the non-delivered messages.

If I send myself a message from the outside world, I can use view,
options to see the headers and track where it has been (or where it
thinks it has been).

With the NDA messsages, I am not sure how to see the headers of the
original messages.

What I want to do is twofold:

1) Check the originating IP address for the sender if possible
2) Make sure that the spam is not originating from a machine inside my
network.

If I send a message from within my domain to another user within my
domain using outlook connected to exchange, I also don't get any
headers. Is there a way of telling the originator or, more relevant,
originating machine for a given message ?

Thanks for your help...
