I completely concur with Ace. DON'T TOUCH THE M: DRIVE. That's just asking
for trouble.

In addition, if that admin is using Outlook 2000 or later and Exchange
System Manager on the same machine, they will encounter various problems,
and they will almost always encounter problems with Public Folder related
functions.

The following article describes how to work around the problems when ESM
and Outlook are on the same machine:
329136 XADM: "The Information Store Could Not Be Opened" Error Message
Occurs
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329136

Does the Admin have the problem accessing the folders through ESM directly
on the server? Do other Exchange admins have the same problem?

Thanks,
Richard Roddy
