Hi all,
We are getting following error in exchange 5.5.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeIMC
Event Category: Internal Processing
Event ID: 4116
Date: 4/1/2004
Time: 9:35:12 AM
User: N/A
Computer: HYDMAIL2
Description:
An error was returned from the messaging software the Internet Mail Service
uses to process
messages on the Microsoft Exchange Server. It is possible that the piece of
mail being
processed at the time will be returned to the sender as a failed delivery
instead of being
delivered. The message will be moved to the "BAD" folder, if possible, and
the error is not
a temporary error. Otherwise it will be retried when the service is
restarted. Use the
appropriate utilities found in the SUPPORT directory of your Exchange CD to
view and
manipulate messages that have been moved to the "BAD" folder.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IMC& IS is going down on processing a BAD message.
MS support says apply latest service pack. Installed the latest service pack
though Internet
mail service going down frequently by throughing above error in Event log.
And also Information store is also hanging and going down.
Details of the Exchange server :
OS: NT 4.0, SP6a with all latest patches
E 5.5 SP4.with all latest patches
Do you have any ways to track down the BAD message.? Do you have any
patches/fixes for this.
Can you please throw some light on this?
Thanks,
-Janardhan.
