Chaps/Ladies,
Is there any way to get Exchange to mail back proper SMTP error
transaction logs rather than the truncated stuff exchange mails out by
default.
E.g.
Exchange mails this back to my user:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject:
Sent: 3/29/2004 2:41 PM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
user@domain1.com on 3/29/2004 2:41 PM
There was a SMTP communication problem with the
recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
<exch.interhouse.redbus.com #5.5.0 smtp;573
user@domain2.com unknown user account>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like it to send something like this:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject:
Sent: 3/29/2004 2:41 PM
The following error occurred:
220 a.smarthostrelay.com ESMTP CommuniGate Pro 4.1.8 is glad to see
you
!
helo some.silly.client
250 a.smarthostrelay.com is pleased to meet you
mail from:<user@domain2.com>
573 user@domain2.com unknown user account
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This would be a lot more useful since a) it shows me which relay
server actually produced the error during the SMTP transaction and b)
it shows me exactly where the conversation failed during the SMTP
transaction.
Thanks for any pointers etc.,
