Suppose, i successfully performed the offline backup, tested the restore
with success and ready to remove the existing 3x18gb disks. Do i have to
break the existing RAID 5 prior to removing the 3x18gb disk? or i shouldn't
have to worry about it, and pull the disks out just like that.

It feels bit silly asking that, but hey, if i don't ask, i will never know!
