Can I run Exchange 5.5 on a Windows 2003 Member server in a NT 4 domain

I do not have active directory in place and it is a NT site with Exchange 5.5 servers running on nt 4 machines.
I do plan on upgrading to AD later. But for now this is what I need to do.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
