You should not touch the M drive...
Backup with the Exchange option in NTBackup (free) or use Exmerge (free) or
buy a third party brick-level agent if you ever plan to restore the data.
We removed "M" in 2003 because it has caused nothing but problems. It was
only there for people to access the database in an easier way for coding.
