Suggestions for mail monitoring software

We used to run software called Mailcheck (I believe by a company
called ipswitch) It was one of those "red, yellow, green" light views
of email. One set up an email account on a server and could bounce
mail through just about anything - exchange, notes, smtp etc. We
had all our email servers monitored and would be paged whenever
delivery became an issue.

Well... as the years have gone by we've outgrown the software by about
20 servers, and its no longer supported (or we cannot purchase
additional licenses etc.)

Aside from some full blown package like MOM etc. - does anyone know of
a good system that can do similar email monitoring? I don't want all
the extras like service monitoring. I know Exchange has built-in
monitoring, but that isn't quite the same...

We want a system that can show our helpdesk where the problems are so
they can get help as necessary.

We used to have a map of the world and had all our servers placed at
all our locations. it was cool... wish they had continued upgrading
and improving that product.
