Have just tried that, same result I'm afraid.
I certainly don't remember assigning/creating a macro with this key
combination.
Have looked in Tools>Macros>Macros....... and there is none listed.

I use a USA keyboard, so this is just a guess.
If you close excel and reopen it in safe mode, does ctrl-` work ok?
Close excel
windows start button|Run
excel /safe
Type in a formula and test it.
If that works ok, then maybe you have a macro that's been assigned to
that
combination of keys.
