What is the exact error message?
If same as below have a look at this KB article.
"The file may have been changed..." error when you save workbook to network
server in Excel 2002
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=324491
Myrna Larson also reported that she got this error when opening a workspace
(*.xlw) file.
Opening the workbooks individually solved the problem.

Where I work there are two users that are not able to save Excel files to a
network share location (they have local admin rights and have rights to the
share). The users are able to save the .xls files to their local machine,
but when they try to do a "Save As . . ." and choose the share, they get an
error saying that they cannot save to the share.
Could someone please assist me?
Thank you for your time.
