Re: calculation for time

Time is a tricky thing.

For example is it 24 hours time in which case 25 hours or its equivalence in minutes (multiply by 60) corresponds to 1 am?

Or is it summation time where 25 hours (or its equivalence in minutes) appears as 25 hours?

Look for one of the custom formats - i think (if I remember rightly) it is one of the options that starts with a hash #

Folks please bear with me - I'm new to Excel and maths is not my
strong point.

I need to display minutes as time in hours and minutes.

I have worked out how to display a total number of minutes as a decimal
- e.g. 114 minutes = 1.9 hours ...... but i do not know how to show 114
minutes as 1 hr 54 mins

can anybody provide me with the calculation that would work for any
number of minutes entered?

Thanks
