I did that. Sorry for not giving the detail steps.
When I clicked the link, Hotmail checked the file for viruses. Next step I
clicked the menu "Download File". After that, IE would ask whether I wanted
to "Open" or "Save" the attachment. "Save" and open it later worked fine,
but not if I choose "Open".
I have a thought that this is a problem with Windows XP and Excel 2000. It's
because on every computer I try I will end up with the same problem. Is
there anybody else having the same problem?
