The primary reason I don't open attachments is potential virii, of
course. It just isn't worth the risk, especially when I have no idea
what the provenance of the workbook is, or whether the OP is careful
about virus protection.
The second reason is that in my experience, when posts have attachments,
the description of what the OP wants is not as adequate as when there's
a text description only - OP's tend to assume that their worksheets are
self evident, while to me, at least, I usually see a number of
possibilities.
A similar reason is that, again in my experience, posts with attachments
are often problems that, if the OP had bothered to lay things out
logically, they might have figured out on their own.
A fourth reason is that attachments contribute *nothing* to the
community since they aren't archived by Google. Instead of being
available for others to look up and use, it's an archival dead-end.
