Re: Use of * in formula

It seems to add a * when it feels the formula is badly formed. so as to make
it able to be evaluated. Most times I get it is when I miss a comma.

Excel 2003
Hello,
I have noticed that sometimes Excel tries to add a * to a formula I try to
create that uses nested functions. Can someone explain what the purpose
of
the * is as it relates to functions? I understand its role in multiplying
2
numbers. Just not sure how it is used with functions.
Thank you.
