Thanks arno, google is always my first step. It almost always leads to
a quick solution, but it hasn't helped me in this case.
In my opinion, the error message must be fairly vauge or over used,
because it seems to be used in a lot of cases that seem unrelated to
mine...
So far the only workaround I have been able to come up with was to
change the datatype returned to string, but since this information
could be used by a client application, I cannot practically label
numeric values as string data.
