In xl2003 menus:
Tools|Customize|commands tab|File category
The last on the list on the right hand side.
In xl2007, it's easier to show all commands and scroll down to the "toggle read
only" item. (alphabetical is good!)

I never heard of a "toggle read only" button in 2003
Where did you find that button?
And where do you find it 2007?

I need to be able to toggle the read-only status of an Excel file once I am
already in the file. In Excel 2003 there was a "toggle read only" button that
allowed me to do this. I have found the same button in Excel 2007, but it
does not seem to be working correctly. When I click on the button it says the
file is read-only, but other users are unable to get into the file and if I
try to click on the button again it does not allow me to toggle back to a
non-read only status. Does anyone know another way to do this in Excel 2007?
