Autofill list

Can I type in or select from a drop down menu a barcode or name and have the
rest of the sheet autofill? Example:
Barcode: 123456 and have autofill the model number, serial number, price,
date?
If I already have the information in another workbook how will it retrieve
the info I am looking for?
