Query a database on a server not working

I've set-up a query on a database that's on our server and I get an error:
"UNEXPECTED ERROR FROM EXTERNAL DATABASE DRIVER (11270)", but if I save that
database to my local drive, the query works just fine. How can I make the
query work with the database on the server?
