If you're just lurking, I like:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.misc
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.setup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.programming
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.work***.functions
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.newusers
But if you really have questions that require answers...
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.misc
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.charting
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.setup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.programming
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.work***.functions
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.newusers
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.printing
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.links
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.templates
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.crashesgpfs
Pick out the one with the best fit and post to that newsgroup. It's not
necessary to post to multiple newsgroups, but if you think you must, just send
one message addressed to all the newsgroups you think will help.
If you send multiple messages to multiple newsgroups (called multiposting),
you'll have lots of newsgroups to check, you won't get the added benefit of a
cooperative response and you'll invoke the wrath of Kahn, er, regulars who hate
multiposting.
Crossposting (one message to multiple newsgroups) isn't really necessary, but
since a reply to any message should show up in the other newsgroups, it doesn't
cause that much trouble.
(Yeah, I stay away from .charting, .links, .templates, .crashesgpfs unless I
have to go there!)
